Atlas for Google Docs™

The Atlas compliance agent, working inside Google Docs™. Draft and review where the document lives, without leaving it.

Ask Atlas to draft, and it works from the material your organization already holds. Ask for a review, and Atlas writes findings into the document as tracked suggestions and anchored comments. You accept or reject them the way you would a colleague's edits.

Atlas draws on the rules your organization configured and on the requirements and standards Unicore applies. Its work shows the sources behind it.

What it does

  • Drafts from a set of source documents in addition to the one you have open.
  • Answers compliance questions from your organization's material and from authoritative sources, and shows you which one the answer came from.
  • Reads a reviewer's markup back in, assesses the changes they proposed, and records what you decided.

Made for documents that get examined

Atlas writes into your document as suggestions. A person decides what to accept, reject, or change, and Atlas records the decision, who made it, and when.

Atlas keeps the record that lets its work be reproduced and challenged.

Unicore maintains an information security and artificial intelligence management program certified under ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 42001, and undergoes independent SOC 2 Type II examination.

Permissions the add-on requests

When you install the add-on, Google asks you to grant these permissions:

Display inside a Google document.
This lets Atlas appear in the document you have open.
Connect to Atlas.
The add-on sends what you ask for to Atlas on Unicore's servers, and returns what Atlas produces.
Read the document you have open.
The add-on reads that document's identifier and its name. It does not read your document's text, and nothing you do in the add-on causes it to. It requests no Google Drive™ permission, so it cannot create a file, list a folder, or open a file other than the one you have open.
See the email address of the Google account you are signed in as.
The add-on obtains that address and the identifier Google assigns to the account. Unicore uses them for two purposes: to record that you accepted the add-on's privacy notice and which version of it, and to confirm that your Atlas account is being used from a Google account you have signed in from before.

What the add-on stores in your document

The add-on stores a small amount of its working state inside the documents you open it in, such as which Atlas draft a document corresponds to and whether a review is in progress. That state is not part of your document's text, and it stays in the document after you uninstall. Managing your data explains how to remove it.

What Atlas reads, separately from the add-on

Atlas reads the documents in the Google Drive™ folders your organization connects to it, using access your organization granted when it configured Atlas. That access is separate from the permissions above and does not come from the add-on. The Atlas for Google Docs™ Privacy Notice describes when Atlas reads, what it reads, and how long it keeps what it reads.

Notices and terms

The Atlas for Google Docs™ Privacy Notice describes how the add-on and the Atlas platform access, use, store, and share data from Google Docs™ and Google Drive™. Managing your data explains what you can remove yourself, what uninstalling does not reach, and how your organization requests deletion. The Terms of Use govern use of Unicore's services and platform.

Unicore's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Account and support

Atlas requires a paid subscription. The add-on is an interface to the Unicore Atlas platform. It signs you into an existing Atlas account. It does not create accounts, and Atlas does not accept sign-ups from the add-on. Your organization holds the account, and Atlas keeps your organization's material in a workspace.
